"Nemasket Hill Cemetery"

‌We Appreciate Your Donations!

The Nemasket Hill Association operates on a limited budget as a non-profit organization.  Maintaining the grounds is our top priority.    Your generous gift donations help to ensure that we have the equipment (mowers, rakes, fuel, tools) to continue our mission to keep the cemetery beautiful.

We are a 501(c)13 non-profit organization.  Any donation you make is tax deductible and your donations will be put to use almost immediately.

When making final arrangements, please consider bequeathing a gift to the Cemetery in your will.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that perpetual care will care for each and every individual grave forever.   That simply isn’t possible within the scope of our budget. And the number of burials we have will continue to grow. We are committed to maintaining the overall grounds, to mowing and trimming around graves.

While the cemetery land is owned by the cemetery (lot owners purchase burial rights, not real estate), the monuments and markers are the personal property of the owner who purchases them, or their family. If requested by the family, we can raise a sinking marker for a very modest fee. Some families have elected to establish endowments with us which cover the cost of maintaining individual graves.

We have several items on our wish-list for future improvements. These include demolishing the garage attached to the chapel, obtaining a maintenance shed or container, installing restroom facilities, land-clearing for expansion purposes, and Nemasket River footbridge re-construction.

Please help in anyway you can...financially, volunteering your time, or donating equipment.  Thank you!

On December 11, 2024, the large pine tree in the picture above toppled during a strong windstorm. The tree destroyed iron fences and smashed/broke some of our old stones.  We are all saddened by this event and it has resulted in a large and unanticipated expense for the cemetery.  One year later, we are still trying to cover the costs of this destruction.
